KIGALI, Rwanda, 27 October 2026 – Rwanda has officially launched InteGo!, its national lottery, as part of efforts to mobilise domestic resources for national development priorities while promoting digital service delivery, transparency and responsible gambling.
The launch event at Mövenpick Hotel Kigali brought together representatives of the Rwanda Development Board (RDB), the National Lottery and Gambling Commission (NLGC), government institutions and partners from the financial, telecommunications, technology and mobility sectors.
InteGo! is owned by the Government of Rwanda and regulated by the NLGC. It is operated by Moja Rwanda Ltd, a technical partner selected through a competitive process.
The national lottery is projected to generate approximately USD 37.6 million (RWF 55 billion) in proceeds for the Government of Rwanda.
These proceeds will support public-benefit initiatives in three priority areas: sports, health and culture, contributing to social development, economic opportunities and community wellbeing.
Serge Nyombayire, Head of Gambling Licensing and Regulations at the NLGC, said:
“The launch of InteGo! represents an important milestone in the development of a modern, well-regulated national lottery. Beyond offering a new form of entertainment, the initiative will generate resources to support investments in sports, health and culture, contributing to talent development, community wellbeing and broader national development priorities.
Central to this initiative is our commitment to building a lottery that meets high standards of integrity, transparency and responsible participation. A well-regulated framework, supported by effective safeguards and public awareness, is essential to building trust and ensuring that the benefits of this initiative are realized sustainably.
Through the National Lottery and Gambling Commission under RDB, we will continue to uphold the highest standards of regulatory oversight, transparency and accountability, ensuring that responsible gambling and public welfare remain at the heart of the lottery’s operations.”
InteGo! has been developed as a fully digital national lottery, allowing eligible players to participate through USSD, mobile money, its website and mobile application.
Authorised agents will also assist customers who prefer in-person support, with all ticket issuance and payments processed digitally.
The platform is designed to make participation accessible across Rwanda through mobile phones, including via USSD, while ensuring secure and traceable transactions.
The official launch included the first InteGo! draw, with daily Lotto 5/90 draws to be broadcast live on Rwanda Broadcasting Agency (RBA) television beginning Wednesday, 28 October 2026.
InteGo! takes its name from the Kinyarwanda word intego, meaning a goal, and operates under the message “Every Play Makes a Difference”, reflecting its commitment to directing a share of proceeds towards public priorities.
Daniel Mihizi, General Manager at Moja Rwanda Ltd, said:
“As the technical operator of InteGo!, our priority is to deliver a secure, transparent and reliable national lottery that meets international standards and earns public confidence. We have invested in digital technology and operational systems that ensure accountability, protect players and provide a seamless experience across the country.
Working closely with the NLGC, we are committed to maintaining the highest standards of integrity and responsible gambling, while ensuring that InteGo! delivers on its promise of generating lasting benefits for Rwandan communities.”
Participation starts from RWF 100 through USSD by dialling *759# or online at www.intego.rw.
Lotto 5/90 draws will be broadcast live on RBA at 7:40 PM on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays, and at 7:15 PM on Wednesdays and Fridays.
Player protection is central to the operation and regulation of InteGo!, in line with Rwanda’s Gambling Policy.
Participation is restricted to adults aged 18 and above across all channels. The platform incorporates spending limits and cooling-off options, while responsible gambling messages will feature in advertising and public communications.
Players who require assistance can contact the free gambling support helpline at 2075, and those wishing to stop gambling may request the closure of their accounts.
InteGo! is intended as a form of entertainment and should not be considered a source of income or a solution to financial difficulties.
The NLGC, under RDB, will oversee compliance with regulatory requirements, including the protection of minors and vulnerable individuals, the integrity of lottery operations and accountability in the management of proceeds.
In the coming weeks, InteGo! teams will conduct public engagements across Rwanda to explain how the lottery operates, answer questions and promote responsible gambling.
