Online career guidance and outreach campaign kicks off for tourism and hospitality practitioners
The Rwanda Development Board (RDB), through its Chief Skills Office today kick-started a weeklong online career guidance and outreach campaign for tourism and hospitality sector practitioners through the Kora job portal.
The initiative aims to assist tourism and hospitality professionals with resources on career guidance and skills development.
During the weeklong outreach, job-seekers and professionals employed in the tourism and hospitality sector can access free learning resources and information through the Kora job (www.kora.rw).
The job portal has information on occupation and education pathways and a tourism microsite that showcases testimonials from various stakeholders and beneficiaries of different initiatives within the Skills office such as; Education First, the LinkedIn-RDB partnership, and Coursera.
Organized in partnership with the Private Sector Federation’s Chamber of Tourism, the German Development Corporation (GIZ) – Hanga Ahazaza and funded by the MasterCard Foundation, the campaign will run from Monday 21st to Friday 25th September this week.
Commenting on the program, Elodie Rusera, the Chief Skills Officer at RDB, said;
“The tourism and hospitality sector in Rwanda is among the fastest growing in Rwanda and it is therefore essential that the RDB Skills Office provides resources and capacity building programs that will improve the skills of Rwandans in the sector and also provide the necessary information to different stakeholders whose interventions will improve the skills of the practitioners in the sector.”
