Coaching clinic by Arsenal FC coaches concludes on a high note
A five-day ‘coach-the-coaches’ football clinic led by Arsenal FC coaches, Simon McManus and Kerry Green has ended on a high note today.
50 local coaches from across the country were trained. This football clinic falls within the framework of the Visit Rwanda-Arsenal FC partnership.
The clinic saw the coaches take part in theory sessions in the mornings and practical sessions in the afternoons. In line with the previous coaching clinic in October last year, this ‘coach-the-coaches’ coaching clinic helped deepen the knowledge of the Arsenal coaching philosophy in Rwanda.
The coaching clinic was organized by Ferwafa (the Rwandan Football Federation) in partnership with the Ministry of Sports and Culture.
Speaking to the media during a press briefing today, the Acting Director of Sports, Guy Rurangayire at the Ministry of Sports and Culture said:
“Young Rwandan footballers now have an opportunity to train and learn from the very best due to the fact that that Arsenal is renowned for its youth coaching. The 50 talented local coaches have significantly benefited from Arsenal’s experience in producing world class talent.”
On his part, Simon McManus, Arsenal Development Lead Coach said;
“It is fantastic for Arsenal to be back at the National Stadium in Kigali to meet these talented coaches. The enthusiasm and commitment that has been on show this week has been outstanding. We are looking forward to continuing our work over the coming years to help the development of Rwandan football, through our partnership with Visit Rwanda.”
